Rhoda Nunn - Emma Muir

Rhoda Nunn is a Pōneke/Wellington-based slow fashion practice by Emma Muir.

All garments are designed and produced as made-to-order pieces or small runs either by myself or local seamstresses/printing houses based in Pōneke and Ōtepoti.

Taking a thoughtful approach to fashion design, I aim to create timeless, well-crafted garments which are cherished, lived in, and passed on.

Playing with juxtaposition and reference, inspiration is drawn from the relationship between romanticism, nostalgia and optimism, and the mundane - the here and now.

My Approach

My design process focuses on sustainability and attention to detail, with a produce less, produce better mentality.

Supporting the NZ fashion industry is a key focus of my design process, as such all fabrics and finishings are sourced from local suppliers.

When it comes to sourcing fabrics, I look to either source quality natural, or repurposed vintage/deadstock fabrics. Natural fabrics are selected for feel, ease of wear/care, and longevity. Vintage repurposed or deadstock fabrics are used where possible.
