Rhoda Nunn

Rhoda Nunn is a Pōneke/Wellington-based slow fashion practice by Emma Muir.

Guided by care and contemplation I craft garments to be cherished, lived in, and passed on.

Lingering between romance and restraint, optimism and nostalgia, my work finds beauty in the everyday - the fleeting, the familiar, the here and now.

My Approach

My design process focuses on sustainability and attention to detail, with a produce less, produce better mentality.

Rooted in Aotearoa, my process honours locality and connection. Fabrics and finishings are carefully sourced through New Zealand suppliers, and every garment is made to order or produced in small runs - shaped by my own hands or in collaboration with local designers, artists, seamstresses, and printing houses..

When it comes to sourcing fabrics, I look to either source quality natural, or repurposed vintage/deadstock fabrics. Natural fabrics are selected for feel, ease of wear/care, and longevity. Vintage repurposed or deadstock fabrics are used where possible.
